A Dahlonega man is facing felony charges after his vehicle overturned on a northeastern Forsyth County road.

Jonathan Harris, 33, was arrested Sunday by the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office. He has been charged with several offenses, including driving under the influence of drugs, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and violation of the Georgia controlled substances act.

He remains in custody at the Forsyth County Detention Center, a jail spokeswoman confirmed.

According to a report from sheriff’s investigator Ron Tomblin, Harris lost control of his 2007 Jeep Liberty about 9:45 a.m. Sunday while traveling east on Keith Bridge Road. The driver apparently struck a mailbox and the truck overturned.

The report states Harris got out of the truck, took out several items and tried to hide them near a fence.

Authorities found prescription narcotics, a small amount of marijuana, a revolver and a bulletproof vest near the wreck.

Harris is also wanted in Gwinnett and Lumpkin counties on unrelated charges.

He was taken to North Fulton Hospital in Alpharetta where he was treated and released before being taken into custody.
