Two Gainesville men found with 7 pounds of marijuana

GAINESVILLE - Two Gainesville men accused of carrying 7 pounds of marijuana totaling $14,000 were arrested Friday night, according to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office.

Van Kim Nguyen, 35, and Nghia Dai Nguyen, 27, are charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute and felony possession of marijuana.

The Multi Agency Narcotics Squad agents assisted by Hall County Sheriff’s Office arrested the two men at a residence in the 4000 block of Amberleigh Trace in Gainesville. Both men had marijuana, more than $10,000 in cash, scales and packaging materials with them, according to a press release.

Investigators estimated the street value of the drugs to be $14,000.

Both were booked in the Hall County Jail and placed under immigration holds.
