A 35-year-old Forsyth County woman remained hospitalized Thursday, four days after she jumped out of a moving vehicle in Cumming.

The incident occurred about 6:15 p.m. Sunday on Bald Ridge Marina Road.

According to a Cumming police report, Maria Garnica of Bonnie Lane in Cumming had been arguing with Enrique Gonzalez Vizuet about repairs to their 1998 Toyota Sienna van.

A spokeswoman at North Fulton Regional Hospital said Garnica was listed in critical condition.

Vizuet, 34, was arrested for not having a Georgia driver’s license within two years of moving to the state, according to the police report.

He was released Monday after posting a $930 bond, a Cumming Jail spokeswoman said.

Vizuez’s nephew was called to pick up the van, which the couple’s infant child was still in, the report said.

Police officers noted that a witness who was on the road saw the van’s side door slide open and Garnica get out.

Vizuet told police he had just picked the woman up from work. He said she left the van after he refused to take her to a store.
