While emergency crews were working to free a woman trapped inside her wrecked car on Georgia 400 northbound just south of exit 13, a second wreck in the traffic backup proved to be more extensive.

One lane was closed at the first wreck as firefighters extricated the victim,  an adult woman, who was taken to North Fulton Hospital in critical condition.

As traffic backed up from the first wreck, a second wreck occurred very close to the Shiloh Road overpass.  This wreck involved two dump trucks and three other cars.  Officials on the scene say that one person received what were described as minor to moderate injuries.  The wreck seriously damaged both dump trucks, and left fluids from the trucks all over the roadway.  All lanes on Georgia 400 northbound were opened to traffic at about 1:20 Friday afternoon.
