Ann Crow has announced she will seek another term on the Forsyth County Board of Education.

“In the last several years, funding for education at the state level has declined,” said Crow, a Republican. “With decreasing revenues in the foreseeable future, school board[s] like ours will be called upon to make hard choices.

"My experience on the board better equips me to make those decisions.”

No other candidates have announced they will seek the District 1 post, which Crow has held since 2003. She currently serves as chairwoman.

An Auburn graduate, Crow and her husband, Roger, have three grown daughters, all educated in the local school system.

The couple have lived in Forsyth for 26 years and own Matrixtbsc Inc., a business service company.

With her community and school involvement, Crow said she can continue to be an effective leader.

“It is essential that we maintain quality schools to attract the kind of business we need to not only balance the property tax base, but to provide jobs for our students in the future,” she said.
