Forsyth's fire safety poster contest winners recognized

CUMMING — The winners and runners-up for the Forsyth County Fire Department’s fifth annual fire safety poster contest for third-graders were recently honored by the county commission.

The students’ artwork will be displayed in county buildings.

Among those taking part in the ceremony were, front row/from left: Laura Coleman, fire prevention training officer, Eric Kidd from Cornerstone Schools, Valeria Mejia of Midway Elementary, Ashley Hall of Cornerstone, Quinn Johnson from Midway and Tanner Keylon of Kelly Mill Elementary; back row/from left, Fire Division Chief Jason Shivers and County Commissioners Brian Tam, Pete Amos, Jim Boff, Todd Levent and Cindy Jones Mills.
