ATLANTA — The championship match of the state Class A-AAAA boys high school lacrosse tournament is set.
In a rematch of the 2011 final, defending champion Lambert will play host to Pope from Cobb County at 7 p.m. Saturday.
The undefeated and top-ranked Longhorns advanced Wednesday night with a hard-fought semifinal victory over Westminister.
Visiting Lambert trailed 4-1 in the first period, and 5-3 at the half, before knotting it at 6.
The Longhorns then rallied for four goals in the final period en route to a 10-7 triumph.
Pope reached the final by virtue of an 11-6 win over Decatur in the other semifinal.
It will be the second state title match in two days for Lambert, whose boys soccer team faces Greenbrier for the championship at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
