WALESKA — A Forsyth County resident was among the faculty members honored during a recent meeting of Reinhardt University’s faculty senate.

According to a news release from the school, Matt Anderson was honored with the Jane England Faculty Award for Excellence. A resident of Cumming, Anderson is an instructor of music who has been a faculty member at Reinhardt for nearly three years.

The $500 award is named for the late England, a professor of history and political science for 31 years at Reinhardt. Prior to her retirement in May 2001, she served in numerous leadership roles, including adviser to the student newspaper and faculty chair.

Founded in 1883, Reinhardt is a private comprehensive university grounded in the liberal arts and affiliated with the United Methodist Church. It offers 43 graduate and undergraduate programs, ranging from business and education to music and theater.
