***UPDATE: (2:36 p.m.) NORTH FORSYTH -- The road has been reopened.

2:16 p.m.

The westbound side of Keith Bridge Road (Hwy. 306 east) directly in front of the QT Gas Station on Freedom Parkway is shut down and the stoplights are blinking yellow after a tractor trailer reportedly had a mechanical error and hit a pole.

Cars are able to use the turn lane to get by, though residents should expect delays, said Deputy Doug Rainwater, a spokesman for the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office.

After breaking down just before 2 p.m., the 18-wheeler “went in reverse” and hit another tractor trailer behind, which caused it to leak a type of film onto the road, Rainwater said.

Rainwater said the substance is not thought to be toxic or dangerous.

A large tow truck is en route and should remove the tractor trailer soon, but Rainwater said drivers should use caution at the intersection, which is now a four-way stop due to the blinking lights.
