CUMMING — Spots remain for Forsyth County Community Connection’s annual Jingle Jog fundraiser Saturday.
Set for 8:30 a.m., the 5K race starts and finishes at Taco Mac on Market Place Boulevard, passing through downtown Cumming.
In a news release, officials with the nonprofit said the run helps raise awareness of its three primary initiatives: Darkness 2 Light, to prevent child sexual abuse; recruiting foster families for Forsyth children; and the local drug awareness council.
“It is a fun event, but more importantly, it makes a difference in the lives of children,” said Niki Colella, executive director.
There will be awards for all age groups, beginning at 10 and younger, up to 60 and older. All preregistered runners will receive a T-shirt. The event will also include a 1-mile fun run.
The sign-up fee until Wednesday is $25. Registration on race day is $30. Entry for the fun run is $5. Race day registration will open at 7:30 am and end at 8:15 am.
The Jingle Jog is qualifier for the 2016 Peachtree Road Race.
