Local gospel group Silver City took home half a dozen awards during the recent North America Country Music Association's Hall of Fame and Awards show in Pigeon Forge, Tenn.

The band was named Vocal Group of the Year and Band of the Year and received Most Promising Album of the Year for its self-titled album.

Group member Tim Hamby was honored as songwriter of the year for "Wake up and Fly."

Entertainer of the Year went to member Jeremy Skinner, while pianist Tommy Smith was named Instrumentalist of the Year.
