Tickets to “The North Atlanta Christmas Spectacular” are $8.75 each and can be purchased at First Redeemer Church’s Web site, www.firstredeemer.org. The church is at 2100 Peachtree Pkwy. in south Forsyth.
Billed as “Christmas like you’ve never experienced,” First Redeemer Church will present “The North Atlanta Christmas Spectacular” in three performances this weekend.
The two-part pageant, which lasts about two hours, will feature a musical play called “The Christmas Post” in the first act, followed by the traditional story of Christmas in the second.
Performances will take place at 6 p.m. Saturday and at 2 and 6 p.m. Sunday.
A full orchestra, as well as the church’s children’s and adult choirs, will perform traditional music throughout the show.
Including musicians and actors from the church, the cast totals more than 400 people.
Barbara Rooks, assistant to the praise and worship pastor, said the church’s participating members have been preparing for the annual show for nearly three months.
Rooks, who will play a part in both acts of the show, led the creation of elaborate costumes behind the scenes.
The performance changes from year to year, she said, but also seems to keep growing.
“I think [the audience] will get a peace about Christmas and they’ll know what Christmas is all about,” Rooks said.
