Forsyth County is offering several half- and full-day spring break camps for ages 4-15 at various county parks. All camps will be held April 3-7 and can registration can be done at Forsythco.com/parks.
“Forsyth County Parks & Recreation is offering a variety of youth camps this spring break – with activities that include everything from painting to science to zip-lining,” Parks and Recreation Director Jim Pryor said in a news release. “With daily, week-long camps, children have more opportunity to engage with their peers, learn new skills and make life-long memories.”
Outdoor Adventure Spring Break Camps
When and where: 8:30 a.m.-4p.m. at Sawnee Mountain Preserve
Ages: 9-11, 12-16
How much: $220
About: Campers will may spend time outside playing games, tour kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, hiking, swimming, rock climbing, tree climbing, canoeing, tubing or zip-lining.
Mindcraft Creeper Crazy Camp
When and where: 9 a.m.-noon at Old Atlanta Park
Ages: 6-11
How much: $165 and a $15 material fee is due on the first day
About: For kids that prefer video games, the Minecraft-inspired camp will group kids into “tribes” that will build their own shelter tools and crafting tables to take on creepers, lava zombies and more.
Drawing and Painting Camp
When and where: 9 a.m.-noon and 12:30-3:30 p.m. at Old Atlanta Park
Ages: 4-6
How much: $90
About: Campers will have a chance to learn to create art using paint, pencil, pastels and other items at two drawing and painting camps. Art supplies are included and non-washable, acrylic paints will be used. Attendees need to bring a snack and beach towel and make sure to where clothes they don’t mind getting paint on.
