The Tea Party Patriots Alliance of Forsyth County is holding an open forum Monday to discuss a Georgia State Senate resolution calling for a convention of the states.
The resolution, which passed 37-16, largely along party lines, calls for a convention of the states to impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, limit its power and jurisdiction and limit the terms of office for its officials and congressional members.
The measure was introduced Wednesday in the state House of Representatives.
The forum will be held in the Central Park meeting room at 7 p.m.
The group welcomes constitutional attorney David Guldenschuh and entrepreneur Jacqueline Paterson, who will further explain the meaning of a convention of the states.
