What is Forsyth County doing to combat drug use? Find out at the next drug summit

The Forsyth County Drug Awareness Council is hosting its 11th Forsyth County Drug Summit, called “11 Reasons Why.” The event will focus on 11 positive steps that the community has taken to combat drug usage in Forsyth County and equip others with education for prevention.

Lt. Gov. Geoff Duncan is the guest speaker. Other speakers expected to attend are Dr. Justine Henao from Northside Hospital and representatives from Vaping-Attention to Prevention, a nonprofit organization that brings awareness to issues around vaping. In addition, the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office will have mock bedroom and drug paraphernalia exhibits.

When: 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 30. Doors open at 6 p.m.

Where: Forsyth Conference Center, at 3410 Ronald Reagan Boulevard in Cumming.
