FORSYTH COUNTY - For locals with old electronics piling up, Forsyth County is giving you a chance to get them off your hands.

Keep Forsyth County Beautiful will hold its biannual electronics and paint recycling event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 7 at the Cumming Fairgrounds parking lot 3. The event has a $5 minimum donation per carload, with an additional $20 fee per televisions and a $5 fee for computer monitors.

Residents are encouraged to bring out electronics such as stereos, laptops, CD players, printers and gaming consoles, but items that just use electricity, like kitchen appliances, hair dryers and vacuum cleaners, will not be accepted.

Wooden console TVs and projector TVs will also not be accepted.

New to this event, KFCB will also accept oil and latex based paints in the original containers. The disposal costs for latex paint is $10 for a 5-gallon bucket, $5 for a 2-gallon bucket, $3 for a 1-gallon can or $5 for two and $1 for a 1-quart can or smaller.

The costs for oil-based paints are $15 for a 5-gallon bucket, $4 for a 1-gallon can or $6 for two, $2 for a 1-quart can, and $1 for a 1-pint can. Spray paint cans can be recycled for $1 each.
