The Cumming Country Fair & Festival continues to roll along.

Dave Horton, fairgrounds director, said the first four days saw great crowds due to near perfect weather.

Rain and cooler temperatures put a slight dampen on festivities Monday and Tuesday, but clear skies and warmer temperatures are predicted for most of the remainder of the fair, which wraps up Sunday.

"We did have a good crowd for our Joe Nichols concert Tuesday night," Horton said. "But there weren’t a lot of people down on the midway."

Aside from Thursday, when there was a 40 percent chance of rain, Horton said "the weather forecast is favorable with temperatures up into the mid-70s" the rest of the way.

Horton and staff always anticipate a couple of days of foul weather during the festival’s annual 11-day run.

"A lot of times when you have a bad day, you’ll wind up with a record day later because of that," he said. "People who would have come on that bad day end up coming on the good day."
