Authorities are investigating a single-vehicle wreck that claimed the life of a 48-year-old Forsyth County man.

Forsyth County Sheriff's Capt. Tim House said the wreck occurred about 11 p.m. Saturday when a 2002 Ford Explorer Sport Trac went off the side of Ga. 400 north near Majors Road.

The driver, who House identified as Joey Edgil of 421 Jasmine Ct. apparently overcorrected, lost control and hit the guardrail under a bridge.

The vehicle then rolled three times before coming to rest on an embankment. House said Edgil was not wearing a seatbelt.

House said no one else was injured in the crash and no other vehicles were involved.
