A 23-year-old man was killed just after midnight Tuesday morning after his motorcycle collided with a car.

Charles Griffin Hall, a Forsyth Central High School graduate, was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office Cpl. David Garrison, Hall was traveling west on Hwy. 369 on a 2007 Kawasaki EX650A motorcycle. Shortly after crossing over Two Mile Creek Bridge, his motorcycle merged into the eastbound lane, striking a 2000 Mazda wagon being driven by Justin Timothy Harless, 28, of Gainesville.

“He’d just come off the bridge,” said Karleen Chalker, sheriff’s office spokeswoman. “We don’t know what caused him to go from one lane into another. That’s still under investigation by Cpl. Garrison.”

Chalker said Harless, who unsuccessfully tried to avoid the collision, received some minor injuries and was treated at the scene. Hall was wearing a helmet, Chalker said.
