NORTH FORSYTH — At least two vehicles were involved in a fatal wreck Friday night near the Silver City community, authorities said.

The collision occurred about 7:45 p.m. at Bannister and Concord roads, not far from the Dawson County line.

The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office confirmed one person died, but could not provide additional details, including the types of vehicles or how the crash occurred.

Deputies were working to find and notify family members of the victim.

Robin Regan, a spokesman for the agency, said driver who died was traveling alone.

Two occupants in a second vehicle suffered what were described as minor injuries and did not require going to a hospital.

Motorists were asked to avoid the area as the intersection was closed while the crash was cleared and investigated.

The fatality was the second in two days on Forsyth County roads.

A single-vehicle crash Wednesday night at Dr. Bramblett Road and Milford Trail in north Forsyth claimed the life of one West Forsyth High School student and injured another.

Caleb Ammons, 17, died after he was thrown from a southbound 1998 Honda Civic when it left Dr. Bramblett in a curve and went down and embankment.
