During the week, many Forsyth County residents spend part of their day fighting traffic along the 24 miles of Ga. 400 that stretch between Interstate 285 and Hwy. 20. The Georgia Department of Transportation is looking for ways to cut their commute times.
The DOT will hold an open house from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Piney Grove Middle, one of several meetings to gather public input on its Ga. 400 Express Lanes Feasibility Study.
As part of the study, the DOT is considering options to reduce traffic along the corridor. Among improvements possible are tolled express lanes and high occupancy vehicle lanes.
