The West Forsyth High School baseball team's season ended Thursday in Carrollton.

The visiting Wolverines fell to the host Trojans 7-2 in the third and deciding game of their second round playoff series.

Carrollton advances to the third round of the state Class AAA playoffs, where it will face Peach County in a best-of-three series beginning Tuesday.

West's season is over. The second-year school was the No. 4 seed from Region 7-AAA and, in the program's first postseason appearance, knocked off Stephens County in last week's opening round.

The Wolverines were the only team from their region to survive the first round.

On Wednesday, West and Carrollton split the first two games of their series.

The Trojans held off the Wolverines 1-0 in Game 2 to force a deciding third game. West won the first game of the doubleheader 3-1.
