The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office has invited the public to help kick off National Crime Prevention Month this weekend.

The agency’s annual Community Safety Fair is set for 9 a.m. to noon Saturday in the parking lot of Home Depot on Marketplace Boulevard in Cumming.

Forsyth County sheriff’s deputies, firefighters, Georgia State Patrol troopers, Department of Natural Resources rangers, paramedics and other public safety officials will participate in the event.

Dogs and horses from the sheriff’s K-9 and mounted patrol units will also be on hand, and those who attend can get a closer look at fire trucks, patrol cars, ambulances and a helicopter.

The event will also offer the opportunity to have child safety seats checked.

Food, live entertainment, a moonwalk for kids, workshop and other activities are planned during the free event.

There will also be a booth for those who want to drop off their expired or unwanted prescription drugs.
