Authorities say that a Forsyth County family has been displaced after a fire swept through their home early on Tuesday morning.
According to Forsyth County Fire Department spokesman Division Chief Jason Shivers, crews of firefighters arrived at 2480 Tillery Lane in the south Forsyth County Margate subdivision at about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday and found the home’s upper stories completely engulfed in flames.
Though the fire was intense and had spread quickly, Shivers said that residents of the home evacuated safely after they were awakened by the sound of breaking glass.
Shivers said that the home is likely a total loss due to the extent of the fire damage.
Fire crews, including four engines from nearby stations and about 20 fire personnel, were on scene at the home battling the blaze for several hours through the early morning, he said.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Forsyth County Fire Department.
