SOUTH FORSYTH — A crew from the Forsyth County Water and Sewer Department contained a small sewer spill earlier this week in a southwest Forsyth subdivision.
According to the department, the incident was reported about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday by a representative of developer DR Horton after a contractor hit a sewer line at a house under construction at 6825 Tulip Creek Circle.
The responding crew found gray water escaping and running into a nearby storm drain.
According to the county, the contractor had damaged a flush box for a low-pressure sewer line while digging in the area.
The line was repaired and the area washed down by 3:18 p.m.
Officials estimated that about 200 gallons of sewage reached the storm drain that emptied into a detention pond.
