FORSYTH COUNTY — Those interested in learning about Forsyth County’s fire and emergency services are encouraged to sign up for the upcoming fire academy.
Participants in the free 10-week program get an inside look at the firefighting profession. They can learn about the department’s variety of services and equipment, as well as meet first responders.
The academy is set for 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. on 10 consecutive Tuesdays from March 1-May 3 at the department’s headquarters, 3520 Settingdown Road in north Forsyth. The final end-of-session activities will be May 7.
Participants must be 25, a county resident, have no prior felony conviction and pass a background check. Space is limited.
Those interested in applying must submit a completed application and a signed and notarized liability release and confidentiality agreement by Feb. 19.
