A single-lane closure will begin on Browns Bridge Road (Hwy. 369 east) starting today at 7 p.m.
Drivers will see flagging operators on Browns Bridge Road directing traffic. This single-lane closure will allow the continued construction of the substructure of the new bridge. This work will continue overnight until 6 a.m. Tuesday.
Drivers are reminded to slow down as crews and concrete trucks will be located near travel lanes. Scott Bridge Company, who was awarded the project in November of 2017, will be pouring one of the concrete caissons, or columns, that will support the new bridge.
Exact dates may change due to weather or other factors.
The project has a scheduled completion in April 2020. The project length is 0.805 miles and will replace the current bridge over Lake Lanier.
The new bridge will have two 12-foot lanes with 8-foot shoulders. The construction contract for this project represents a $27 million investment.
