NORTH FORSYTH -- Three people were taken to area hospitals, one with life threatening injuries, after a wreck on Dahlonega Highway at Mountain Road Tuesday evening.

According to Forsyth County Fire Department Division Chief Jason Shivers, two men were taken to North Fulton Hospital, one with critical injuries, the other with moderate injuries, following the wreck, where a southbound F-150 pickup truck struck a Volkswagen car broadside at about 6:30 Tuesday evening.

Rescuers had planned on sending the third victim by air ambulance, but were unable to stabilize her condition enough to do that, so she was taken by ground ambulance to Northside Hospital-Forsyth with what Shivers called life threatening critical injuries.

The Forsyth County traffic specialist unit is investigating the cause of the crash.
