Youth group to host charity bingo night Monday
Bingo

Next week, the youth group of the United Way of Forsyth County, Youth United will be hosting its first-ever event, a night of bingo, raffles, refreshments and fun, with all proceeds going back into Youth United.

According to Youth United spokesperson Ana Price, the event will take place on May 14, from 6-7 p.m. in the Café of Forsyth Mountain Education Charter High School at 1120 Dahlonega Hwy., in Cumming.

The website of United Way of Forsyth County states that Youth United is a student-led change organization in the county, and that “students in [Youth United] help impact the community, grow as leaders and develop relationships within other community organizations.”

Price said that during the event, each round of bingo can be played for $2, or the entire night for $10.

She added that in addition to the bingo, participants will be able to buy tickets for the 50/50 raffle drawing, and possibly walk away with cash in hand. Tickets can be bought for $3, she said.

According to Price, the money collected will go to towards helping Youth United with goals they have in the community.

“The collective objective of Youth United and United Way is to build a boy’s and girls club in Forsyth County,” Price said. “That’s the long-term goal.”

She said for the time being, the money they gather will go towards funding future fundraising events the group has planned.

“This is our first one,” Price said with a laugh. “Everyone is just pitching in however they can.”
