2 arrested for giving cash for electric slot machine wins

Sreenivasa Lokasani, 47, and Janeth Escorcia-Ortiz, 27, were charged with commercial gambling after a task force found they were paying cash winning to electric slot machine players at two local convenience stores.

Employees of two Forsyth County convenience stores have been arrested for giving cash prizes to electric slot machine players.

On Thursday, Jan. 16, Sreenivasa Lokasani, 47, and Janeth Escorcia-Ortiz, 27, were charged with commercial gambling after members of a Johns Creek Alpharetta Forsyth Drug Task Force conducted searches at two local gas stations, according to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office officials.

Lokasani was arrested at the Citgo, at 602 Dahlonega Highway, and was held on an $11,130 bond at the Forsyth County Jail before being released.

Escorcia-Ortiz was arrested from Chevron at 554 Atlanta Highway. She is also out of the jail after being held on an $11,110 bond.

The state gaming commission has been notified of the arrests.
