Forsyth County commission: At large or by district?

Forsyth County News

For those of us who resided in Forsyth County prior to 2010, we used to vote for commissioners on an at-large basis. That meant any registered voter in Forsyth County could vote for any commissioner no matter what district we and they lived in.

Now we vote only for the commissioner who resides our specific district, i.e. 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5.

That is very comforting for our esteemed commissioners because even if residents in districts 1, 2, 3 or 4 are not happy with the voting record of the commissioner in district 5, there is nothing we can do to send that commissioner a message, such as we are not happy with the way you vote to circumvent the Forsyth County master land use plan to the benefit of contractors.

Ask yourself if you are happy with overcrowded schools and high volume of traffic on our roads.

It's time for a change in the way we vote for commissioners. No action indicates you are OK with continued overcrowded schools and roads.
