The untimely death of U.S. Army Cpl. Matthew Phillips deeply saddened me.  Though I didn’t personally know Cpl. Phillips or his family I am grateful that he fought to serve our great nation and protect the freedoms we all enjoy. 


Cpl. Phillips deserves the upmost respect for the sacrifice he made. 


Having stated the above, the story written about Cpl. Phillips should have been front page and center, not a sidebar next to a story about a cat stuck in a tree. I doubt I am the only person who finds this appalling.
