What to know: Central may have fallen, 24-7, to West Forsyth last Friday night at home, but the Bulldogs left the field with confidence after intercepting the Wolverines three times and threatening to make it a game in the fourth quarter. Head coach Frank Hepler remarked after the game that he hopes his team can bring the same energy for the rest of the season, and if so, they can be hard to beat.
Milton might be the chance for Central to get its first region win as a Class 7A program. The Eagles were hard to read coming out of a difficult non-region schedule, but blowout losses to West and South Forsyth indicate they’re a work in progress and may even struggle to avoid the bottom of the region standings by season’s end.
Central will look to reestablish its ground attack with tailback Sabrian Howard, who was leading the county in rushing yards and rushing touchdowns before getting bottled up in the past two games. Milton’s strength is in its defensive backfield, which may struggle to make plays against Central’s line-of-scrimmage focused attack.
