Who: Dalton vs. Forsyth Central

When, where: Wednesday and Friday, 5:55 and 7, at Forsyth Central; Thursday, 7:30 p.m. at Dalton.

Records, rankings: Dalton is 19-4, 15-3 in Region 7-AAAAA, Div. A and unranked in Class AAAAA; Central is 19-4, 16-2 in Region 7-AAAAA, Div. B and ranked No. 10.

What to know: Central is going for its second consecutive region championship under head coach Kevin McCollum. Before last year’s title series sweep of Creekview the Bulldogs had not won a league championship since 1997, when current West Forsyth head coach Mike Pruitt was in charge.

Central has dominated opponents in league play, outscoring its six Division B counterparts by a score of 148-48. The Bulldogs had the highest scoring offense in their division during the regular season and second best scoring defense behind Cambridge, which has allowed 46.

Dalton has allowed almost twice as many runs in league play (82), but can score at a high clip—it has 162 runs, which is best in the entire Region 7-AAAAA.

Central has won 13 of its last 14 games, with the only loss since March 14 coming against Kell, 7-4, on April 8.
