North Forsyth senior Nick Aiken signed to play baseball at (Div. II) Young Harris College in the 2014 season.

Aiken was chosen North’s offensive MVP last season in addition to being named to the All-County honorable mention list and the All-Region 6-AAAAA second team.

Aiken, who plays catcher and second base, said he will alternate between the two positions at Young Harris until the coach decides which one he fits best.

"I want to be a starter in my first year," Aiken said. "I’ve been working hard in the offseason to do my best and get better every day. That’s one of the goals I have. But, I don’t get down on myself if something doesn’t go my way."

Aiken attended the Young Harris baseball camp last season, where he garnered the attention of coaches and was able to look around the school.

"It’s a nice campus and everyone is friendly," Aiken said. "It’s a good school, small town. My parents were happy about it. You can’t get into too much trouble there."

Although Aiken isn’t quite sure what he wants to study, he is leaning toward a business degree.
