NORTH FORSYTH AT CHEROKEE
When, where: Tonight, 7:30 p.m., at Tommy Baker Field in Canton.
Records, rankings: North is 2-0 and unranked in Class 6A; Cherokee is 2-0 and unranked in Class 6A.
Series history: North leads 2-1.
Last meeting: North won 28-12 in 2012.
What to know: Cherokee has already won more games than it did the last two seasons, but it hasn’t faced a bruising running attack like North yet. The Raiders’ offense has scored 31 points in each game, while the defense hasn’t allowed a single point, making it their best start since 2009, the last time they made the playoffs.
The North defense will be tested tonight, though. The Indians have tallied 53 and 34 points in their first two games with wins over Creekview and Sequoyah, respectively. With North coach Jason Galt willing to rest a few players in order to prepare for region play, Cherokee should make it a close game.
