Volleyball: North Forsyth wins Forsyth Challenge over rival West Forsyth

North Forsyth volleyball got some redemption against a county rival for a big milestone.

Maddie Bryant had 40 kills over five matches as the Lady Raiders won the Forsyth Challenge title against West Forsyth on Saturday.

North defeated Pinecrest Academy (25-17, 25-16), Forsyth Central (25-15, 25-17), Stratford Academy (25-7, 25-8) and Gainesville (25-20, 25-17) to earn a rematch with West. The two teams had played three days earlier, with West winning a close three-set match.

But Bryant had 10 kills and Bri Gilbert added seven as North prevailed 25-19, 25-18 against the Lady Wolverines.

Bryant added 20 digs on the day, while Gilbert added 25 digs and 12 aces. Marin Black had 38 digs and 12 aces, Logan Taft had 110 assists and 12 aces, and Maddie Palmer had 27 kills, eight blocks and seven aces.
