Pitcher of the Year

Landon Sims, Jr., South Forsyth

Mississippi State commit continued his steady year-to-year improvement, recording a 0.90 ERA with 80 strikeouts, 16 walks and just 34 hits allowed in 62 innings pitched.

Player of the Year

Will Patota, Sr., Pinecrest Academy

Southern Union CC signee was one of the most fearsome power hitters in the county in recent memory, socking 14 home runs with a .430 average and 1.488 OPS.

Coach of the Year

Russ Bayer, South Forsyth

Rebounded from a two-year playoff absence to lead War Eagles to a 14-1 record in region play and berth in the second round of the state tournament.

First team

SP – Mitchell Gross, Jr., Forsyth Central

Georgia commit showed swing-and-miss stuff, allowing 26 hits and striking out 56 in 45 2/3 innings.

SP – Tyler Fairchild, Sr., North Forsyth

Lefthander stepped up as team’s ace, recording 1.74 ERA with 35 hits allowed and 56 strikeouts in 48 1/3 innings.

SP – Payton MacPherson, Sr., Lambert

Moved into rotation after year as team’s closer and was a workhorse, throwing 56 1/3 innings with 2.36 ERA. Signed with Limestone College.

RP – Peyton Presley, Jr., South Forsyth

Wiry, low-slot hurler showed potent fastball-slider combo, recorded 1.53 ERA with 25 strikeouts and 12 hits allowed in 18 1/3 innings.

INF – Matty Bapst, Sr., South Forsyth

Excellent defensive catcher threw out 16 attempted base-stealers, hit .350 with .965 OPS. Belmont Abbey signee.

INF – Ben Gobbel, Sr., Pinecrest Academy

Belmont Abbey signee keyed explosive offense, hitting .400 with 13 doubles, 3 home runs.

INF – Jonathan Hemings, Jr., Lambert

Led team with .404 average with four home runs.

INF – Collin Price, Sr., Lambert

Mercer signee showed versatility, playing both outfield and catcher, and hit .379 with 14 doubles and 2 homers.

INF – Cooper Davidson, Sr., South Forsyth

Reliable middle-of-the-order bat hit .350 with 29 RBI, .924 OPS. Has signed with Austin Peay.

OF – Jacob Holton, Sr., Forsyth Central

One of the best pure hitters in the county hit .388 with 1.104 OPS. Lawson State CC signee.

OF – Bradley Prince Jr., Sr., South Forsyth

Leadoff hitter hit .309 with .943 OPS, had more walks (23) than strikeouts (22). Grayson College signee.

OF – Landon Sims, Jr., South Forsyth

Staff ace also played a solid right field and was dangerous power bat, with 9 doubles, 7 homers and a 1.080 OPS.

UTL – Ben Ferrer, Sr., South Forsyth

USC-Upstate signee hit .421 with 16 doubles and a 1.095 OPS; threw 64 2/3 innings with 46 hits allowed, 76 strikeouts, 1.84 ERA.

Second team

SP – Jacob Ryan, Jr., Forsyth Central

Recorded 2.26 ERA with 36 hits allowed in 40 1/3 innings in first season as full-time varsity starter.

SP – Ethan Hankins, Sr., Forsyth Central

Top draft prospect and Vanderbilt signee missed time with shoulder issue but was highly effective when he did throw, with 37 strikeouts in 20 2/3 innings.

SP – Patrick O’Rourke, Jr., Pinecrest Academy

Staff ace threw 76 innings, most of any county pitcher, recording 82 strikeouts and 2.67 ERA.

RP – Ryan Ferguson, Sr., West Forsyth

Recorded 2.55 ERA, allowing 23 hits and striking out 26 in 24 2/3 innings.

INF – Drew Southern, Fr., West Forsyth

Talented defensive shortstop hit .314.

INF – Colin Sanders, Sr., North Forsyth

Reliable catcher hit .320 with 10 doubles, 10 steals, .429 OBP.

INF – Kyle Martin, Sr., North Forsyth

Hit .313 with 4 home runs, 26 RBIs.

INF – Ryan Gray, Sr., West Forsyth

North Georgia signee hit .338 with 17 walks to 13 strikeouts.

INF – Ryan Finegan, Sr., South Forsyth

Hit .300 with 22 walks to 18 strikeouts, made just 1 error to 44 putouts. Stevens Institute of Technology signee.

OF – Connor Kirley, Sr., West Forsyth

Defensive standout in center field hit .262 with 20 walks, 16 strikeouts. Signed with Columbus State.

OF – Caleb Vercek, Jr., North Forsyth

Speedy center fielder hit .283 with 24 runs scored, 12 steals.

OF – Wyatt Crowell, So., West Forsyth

Hit .306 and had 5 doubles, mainly out of the leadoff spot. Also recorded 2.10 ERA in 30 innings.
