Athlete of the Year

Jordan Smith, Lambert, Sr.

Vanderbilt signee was the best sprinter in the county, winning the 200 and 400 at the region meet and finishing fourth overall in the 400 at the state meet.

Coach of the Year

Christine Shaw, South Forsyth

Deployed strong, deep stable of distance and middle-distance runners to guide the War Eagles to their second straight region title.

All-FCN

Jamie Gray, Fideles Christian, Sr.

Liberty signee showed her talent in the multis, winning the high jump, long jump, shot put and 100-meter hurdles at GICAA state championship meet, where the Rangers took the team title.

Kaylee DuPont, South Forsyth, Sr.

Georgia signee finished eighth in the 800 and sixth in the 1600 at state.

Madelynne Cadeau, South Forsyth, So.

Finished fifth in state in 3200 in 11:02, a personal best by more than 20 seconds.

Louise Tocays, South Forsyth, Sr.

Lone state qualifier from region in 100, finishing ninth overall. Won that event and finished second in 200 at region meet.

Aleesa De Castro, South Forsyth, Jr.

State qualifier in 3200, finishing 15th in 11:36.

Paloma Jaramillo-Henderson, South Forsyth, Jr.

State qualifier in long jump, finishing 14th with 17 feet, 2.5 inches. Won that event and finished third in 100 at region meet.

Laney Kronz, Forsyth Central, So.

Region champ in 100 and 300 meter hurdles finished 11th in the latter event at state, in 15.25.

Karah Straub, Forsyth Central, Sr.

Region runner-up in 400 competed in five events at that meet, scoring in four.

Reagan Pasonski, Lambert, Sr.

Region champ and state qualifier in the high jump.

Chloe Cobbett, West Forsyth, So.

Region champ and state qualifier in triple jump, finishing 15th in Class 7A with mark of 34 feet, 5.75 inches.

Jack Haller, West Forsyth, Sr.

Navy signee repeated his state title in pole vault, dueling with Parkview’s Brian Hauch on his way to a personal best of 16-00.

Coach of the Year

Led Longhorns to second-place finish at region meet, behind Fulton County champs Milton.

Bryson Trigg, North Forsyth, Jr.

Runner-up in 100 and 200 at region, state qualifier in long jump.

Lee Keil, Lambert, Sr.

Georgia Tech signee finished fifth at state in 1600.

Justin Gibbs-Poe, Lambert, Sr.

Region champ in 110 hurdles finished 14th at state in that event.

Alex Gibbs-Poe, Lambert, Sr.

Region runner-up in 110 hurdles finished 13th at state.

Jalen Battle, Lambert, So.

Region champ in high jump finished sixth at state.

Calan Gizelbach, Forsyth Central, Jr.

Set personal best in 3200 with 11th-place finish at state, the best among county athletes.

Ridvan Kazimov, South Forsyth, Jr.

Region champ in shot put finished second at state in that event. Also finished fifth in discus at state.

Richard Jordan, South Forsyth, Sr.

Hurled discus 153 feet, 9 inches at sectional meet, the second-best mark in that event by a county athlete this year.

Kyle Brown, West Forsyth, Jr.

Region champ in discus finished second at state in that event. Also finished sixth in shot put at state.

Michael Zabetakis, West Forsyth, Sr.

Region champ in triple jump finished 12th at state in that event.
