Cross country: Four county runners named to All-Metro team

Four Forsyth County runners were named to the Atlanta Track Club's All Metro Cross Country Team, which was announced Tuesday. Lambert's Tyler Fox and Lee Keil and Forsyth Central's Calan Gizelbach were named to the boys team and South Forsyth's Kaylee DuPont was named to the girls team.

All four runners finished in the top 10 in their respective races at the Class 7A state championship meet last Friday in Carrolton. Fox finished fifth and Keil finished ninth to help Lambert to a second-place team finish in the boys race, and Gizelbach, the only junior from the county to be named All Metro, came in seventh overall to lead Central to a 10th-place finish.

DuPont, a senior who committed to run at Georgia in October, finished sixth overall at the state meet -- the fourth top-10 finish of her career in that meet -- and led the South girls to second place in the team standings.

Each of the honorees will receive a $500 scholarship and will be honored at a banquet in Atlanta on Dec. 5.
