Denmark vs. West Hall

When, where: Friday, 7:30 p.m. at Denmark High in Alpharetta.

Records, rankings: Denmark is 4-1 and unranked in Class 4A; West Hall is 1-4 and unranked in Class 4A.

Series history: This is the teams’ first-ever matchup.

Last meeting: This is the teams’ first-ever matchup.

What to know: The Danes’ Region 7-4A opener last week at Chestatee went well enough. The combo of quarterback Ben Whitlock and receiver Ze’Vian Capers was as lethal as ever, while the defense was … well, Denmark won, by a 61-47 margin, and now has another winnable region matchup. West Hall has an uninspiring track record so far, and with just 23 points scored through the Spartans’ last three games, it looks unlikely that they’ll push the Danes’ defense like Chestatee did. If Denmark wants to make the playoffs this year, this game is a must-win, with tough matchups against Blessed Trinity, Marist and Flowery Branch still waiting.
