Eleven Forsyth County baseball players were named to the Georgia Dugout Club’s all-state teams, which were announced Thursday.
North Forsyth’s Cory Campbell, Lambert’s Zach Graveno and Forsyth Central’s Parker Biederer all were named to their respective first-team lists for Class AAAAAA and Class AAAAA, while West Forsyth outfielder Mason McWhorter and Central pitcher Parker Morrison were named to the second team.
Campbell and Graveno were already named to the coaches’ Region 6 first-team. Campbell, an Air Force signee, batted .424 on the season with 10 doubles, four home runs, 30 RBI, while also stealing 10 bases.
Graveno, who will play collegiately at Mercer, finished 10-1 with an outstanding .053 ERA and 70 strikeouts, helping lead Lambert’s multi-ace staff to a region title.
Biederer, headed for Sante Fe College to compete in the JUCO ranks, batted .371 with 13 RBI, 38 runs scored and 28 stolen bases on 32 steal attempts.
McWhorter will play at Georgia Southern next year, while Morrison will stay close to home and play at North Georgia.
Lambert catcher Kyle McCann (Georgia Tech), North pitcher Tyler Koch (Georgia State), Central shortstop Taylor Bauman (Piedmont) and Pinecrest’s Ben Gobbel (infield), Ryan McCarthy (shortstop/outfield) and Will Patota (infield) received honorable mentions.
