North Cobb Christian 2, Pinecrest Academy 1

KENNESAW – The Eagles scored in walk-off fashion as the Paladins dropped a tough Region 6-A loss Tuesday on the road.

Jake Mangan took the loss for Pinecrest (4-8, 3-3). Mangan came on in relief of starter Todd Mahaffey, who allowed just one run over five solid innings while striking out three.

Matt Walter led Pinecrest at the plate with two of the team’s five hits. John Crone drove in the Paladins’ lone run in the top of the sixth inning.

St. Francis 6, Walker 1

MARIETTA – Sam Berman allowed just one run over seven innings and the Knights won a Region 6-A victory Tuesday on the road.

Berman gave up just four hits and struck out two for St. Francis (6-7, 2-5).

Matthew Fezza led the Knights at the plate going 3-for-4 with two runs and a double, while Daryian Basco went 2-for-4 with two runs and an RBI.


West Forsyth 157, Johns Creek 163

JOHNS CREEK – Connor Pollman shot a 36 and the Wolverines edged the Gladiators for a Region 6-AAAAAA victory Tuesday on the road.

West also got a strong showing from Drew Ridings who shot 38.


Lambert 13, Chattahoochee 3

JOHNS CREEK – Trey Arnold broke the school record for most faceoff wins and the Longhorns bounced back from a tough loss Saturday with an Area 3-AAAAAA victory Tuesday on the road.

Arnold had a goal, two assists and seven ground balls while pushing his career total of faceoff wins to 297 to pass Kyle O’Donnell (293 from 2010-12).

Jake Stanford and Johnny DiVirgilio each had two goals for Lambert (8-1), which was coming off a 11-10 loss to Roswell on Saturday in a rematch of last season’s Class AAAAAA championship game.

Matt O’Rourk had a goal and two assists while Darron You, Hunter Shepherd, Justyn Jean-Felix, Eric Overbay, Justin Blastick, Cameron Barnes and Alex Walker all added one goal apiece.

Garret Gomez had five saves.

North Forsyth 16, Riverside Military 3

GAINESVILLE – Chase Chapman had four goals and three assists as the Raiders cruised to a non-area victory Tuesday on the road.

Jack Connaughton and Garrett Patterson each scored three goals for North, while Ben Cochran, Evan Smith and Patrick Scales added two apiece. Mason Jolley and Tucker Davis each scored a goal.

Jacob Day had seven saves for the Raiders.

Other scores: Fellowship Christian 15, Forsyth Central 5; Roswell 18, West Forsyth 7; Mill Creek 14, South Forsyth 4.
