Forsyth Central opened Region 7-AAAAA play with a 10-4 victory over North Springs at home on Thursday.
The Lady Bulldogs (4-4, 1-0) were led by Rachel Karlan who went 3-for-4 with a double, triple and two RBIs. Kyleigh Grace went 2-for-3, Marisa Hull was 1-for-2 with two RBIs and Lexi Bump went 1-for-2 with four runs scored.
Central pitcher Caroline Thomas allowed hits and two earned in three innings while striking out three to earn the win. Carrlyn Kiser earned the save, allowing one run on one hit in three innings while striking out eight.
North Forsyth 5, Johns Creek 1
A big hit from Andrea Coleman helped the Lady Raiders stay undefeated in region play with a 5-1 victory over Johns Creek.
Coleman went 1-for-4 with a two-run triple and stole a base for North (5-4, 4-0 Region 6-AAAAAA). Morgan Franklin added an RBI.
Lea Ann Porter earned the win the Lady Raiders with a complete game performance, allowing just one earned run on four hits while striking out three.
