Three county girls basketball teams prevailed on Friday. Forsyth Central topped Cherokee Bluff 71 to 45 to move to 2-0 on the season, West Forsyth beat St. Pius X 41-39 to obtain the same mark, and South Forsyth beat North Springs 59-19 to get its first win after falling to Lanier in the season opener.
Pinecrest fell 51-22 to Mt. Vernon Presbyterian on Friday, and Denmark lost 60-12 to Johns Creek on Thursday.
The Pinecrest and South boys teams both prevailed on Friday, with the Paladins topping Wesleyan 56-41 and the War Eagles beating North Springs 62-49, with Devin McGlockton putting up 15 points and 12 rebounds for South.
Denmark put its record at 2-0 on Thursday with a 66-65 win over Johns Creek, with Sutton Smith putting up 19 points and Adonnis Easton-Tolbert dropping 13 with 14 rebounds, and Forsyth Central lost 64-63 to Creekview.
