Forsyth Central 6, Creekview 5

CANTON – The Bulldogs scored in the top of the eighth inning to grab Game 1 of the Region 7-AAAAA championship series Tuesday on the road.

Central (15-6) can clinch the region championship with a victory Wednesday night in Game 2.

Parker Morrison got the win with two scoreless innings of relief. Bulldogs starter Reed Clark struck out six in six solid innings.

Central had given away  a 3-0 led by the fourth inning as Creekview scored one run in the third and four in the fourth to take a 5-3 lead. The Bulldogs rallied, scoring twice in the top of the seventh to force extra innings and set up the dramatic victory.

Taylor Bauman had two RBIs, Hunter Bauman had two hits and an RBI, Pierce Nufer drove in a run and Jose Meese had two hits and scored the game-winning run.

Lambert 11, Alpharetta 1

ALPHARETTA – Seth Beer went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs as the Longhorns cruised to a Region 6-AAAAAA victory Tuesday on the road.

Cole Varner got the win for Lambert (16-5, 12-1) striking out three in two scoreless innings. Zach Graveno, Matt Vonderschmidt and Thomas Reddin combined to allow just one run in five innings of relief.

The Longhorns also got strong days at the plate from Jeremy Johnson (2-for-5, 2R, RBI), JD Dutka (1-for-3, 2R, 2B, 2RBI), Brady Ballstadt (1-for-1, 2RBI), Will Dunavant (2-for-3, 2R, 2B, RBI), Bradley Leathers (2-for-4, 2B, RBI) and Josh McAllister (2-for-3, R).


Riverwood 10, Forsyth Central 5

CJ Hamilton had three goals and an assist but it wasn’t enough as the Bulldogs dropped an Area 3-AAAAA/A game Tuesday at home.

Central fell to 4-8 overall and 2-8 in the area.

North Forsyth 14, Archer 4

The Raiders cruised to a non-area victory on Senior Night at home Tuesday for the teams’ sixth win in its last seven games.

North improved to 8-6 overall.

Other scores: Wesleyan 13, Pinecrest Academy 1.


South Forsyth 5, Lanier 0

Jenna Vollrath scored four goals and the Lady War Eagles cruised to a non-region victory Tuesday at home.

Elena Zang also scored for South (14-3). Meagan Postell had three assists and Reagan Smith had another.

Collins Hill 3, West Forsyth 2

SUWANEE – Brooke Pirkle and Gillian Bay scored goals but it wasn’t enough as the Lady Wolverines lost a non-region game Tuesday on the road in their season finale.

West ends its season at 7-9 overall.

Other scores: Forsyth Central 4, Sequoyah 3.


Lanier 2, South Forsyth 1

Drew Witalis made the most of his Senior Night scoring the lone goal for the War Eagles in a non-area game Tuesday at home.

Owen Christinsen, a senior, had the assist for South, which finished its season at 2-15 overall.

West Forsyth 4, Collins Hill 2

SUWANEE – Kwaku Adu had a hat-trick and the Wolverines ended their season with a non-area win Tuesday on the road.

Brett Wade scored the other goal for West (7-9). Cam Macer had two assists, while Freddie Hackney also had an assist.
