SANDY SPRINGS – Abbey Fagan had 12 points and the Lady Bulldogs opened Region 7-AAAAA play with a win Tuesday on the road.
Julie Richards added 10 points for Central (2-2, 1-0), while Caroline Hearn had seven points.
Mt. Pisgah 39, Pinecrest Academy 27
ALPHARETTA – The Lady Paladins struggled to score in their Region 6-A opener Tuesday night on the road.
Pinecrest dropped to 2-2 overall and 0-1 in the region.
South Forsyth 56, Alpharetta 36
ALPHARETTA – Sarah Myers had 17 points and the Lady War Eagles cruised to a Region 6-AAAAAA victory Tuesday on the road.
Ally Welch added eight points for South (5-0, 2-0) who had nine players in all score.
South pulled in the second and third quarters, outscoring Alpharetta 32-10 over that span.
West Forsyth 55, Habersham Central 44
Jenna Staiti had 25 points as the Lady Wolverines got a Region 6-AAAAAA win Tuesday at home.
Six other West (3-1, 2-0) players scored: Jane Ortlip (seven), Hayla Seitz (six), Carsen Parker (five), Abby Quincy (four), Conner Parker (four) and Jasmine Rodriguez (two).
Riverwood 57, Forsyth Central 36
SANDY SPRINGS – The Bulldogs couldn’t overcome a sluggish first quarter in their Region 7-AAAAA season opener Tuesday on the road.
Riverwood outscored Central (2-2, 0-1) 19-2 in the first quarter and never looked back.
Kohl Roberts had 18 points to lead Riverwood, while Jordan Renfro added 14.
Horizon Christian 63, Unity Christian 53
ROME – Michael Walker had 12 points and eight rebounds as the Warriors cruised to a victory Tuesday on the road.
Josiah Laws added 11 points, six rebounds, four assists, three steals and three blocks for Horizon (4-2).
Tyler Logan had 10 points and six rebounds, while Jared Hamby had seven points and 11 assists.
Mt. Pisgah 60, Pinecrest Academy 50
ALPHARETTA – Ryan McCarthy had 16 points and 12 rebounds but it wasn’t enough for the Paladins in a Region 6-A loss Tuesday on the road.
Nick Palmer added six points, seven rebounds, seven assists and four steals for Pinecrest (1-2, 0-1) while Zayne Rice had eight points and six rebounds.
Alpharetta 65, South Forsyth 48
ALPHARETTA – A slow start doomed the War Eagles in a Region 6-AAAAAA loss Tuesday on the road.
South dropped to 0-4 overall and 0-2 in the region.
The War Eagles fell behind 15-6 after the first quarter and never recovered.
Habersham Central 52, West Forsyth 50
The Raiders hit a buzzer-beating shot to hand the Wolverines a Region 6-AAAAAA loss Tuesday at home.
Cam Macer led West (2-2, 1-1) with 16 points.
