South Forsyth 10, Lowndes 2

VALDOSTA – Grant Pearce went 3-for-4 with a home run and five RBIs as the War Eagles cruised to a non-region victory Friday on the road.

Landon Sims got the win for South (1-0), allowing two runs on four hits while striking out five in four innings. Brennan Vincent and Mark House combined to strike out five in three scoreless innings of relief.

South also got big games from Alec Kliphouse (3-for-4, 2RBI) and Matt Cunningham (3-for-4, 2RBI).

Flowery Branch 4, West Forsyth 3

The Wolverines managed just five hits in a non-region loss Friday at home.

Lucas Ellenburg suffered the loss for West (0-1)


Peachtree Ridge 11, Forsyth Central 3

Ansley Barberde had a goal but it wasn’t enough as the Lady Bulldogs dropped a non-area game Friday at home.

Maria Hansen added a goal for Central, while Madison Goldberg also scored one goal.


Northview 16, North Forsyth 10

Chase Chapman had two goals and five assists but it wasn’t enough as the Raiders dropped an Area 3-AAAAAA game Friday at home.

Tucker Davis and Colton Rudd each scored three goals apiece for North (x-x), while Tucker Brady had a goal and an assist, Sam Grogan had two assists and Mason Jolley added an assist.

The Raiders also got big contributions from goalie Jacob Day (22 saves) and faceoff specialist Shaun Herock (70 percent).

Pinecrest Academy 9, Gainesville 5

The Paladins earned an Area 3-A/AAAAA victory Friday at home to improve to 2-0 on the season.

West Forsyth 14, Collins Hill 7

SUWANEE – Justin Kabo had four goals and two assists as the Wolverines cruised to a non-area victory Friday on the road.

Jimmy Martelli added three goals and four assists for West (2-0).


Forsyth Central 2, Flowery Branch 0

FLOWERY BRANCH – Abbey Fagan and Kara Slaughter each scored a goal and the Lady Bulldogs earned a non-region victory Friday on the road.

Fagan struck first for Central (2-0) finishing a corner kick from Amy Goodrow. Slaughter followed with a penalty kick that was created when Callie Fagan was taken down in the box on a breakaway opportunity.

Lambert 1, Cambridge 0

MILTON – Maggie Hanusek scored the game’s only goal as the Lady Longhorns earned a non-region win Friday on the road.

Maddie Eddleman had the assist on Hanusek’s goal for No. 2-ranked Lambert (4-0).

Mountain View 2, North Forsyth 0

LAWRENCEVILLE – Kat Fisher had nine saves but it wasn’t enough as the Lady Raiders dropped a non-region game Friday on the road.

Despite out-shooting the Lady Bears, 11-9, North (0-2-1) couldn’t answer Mountain View goals in the 7th and 18th minute.

Pinecrest Academy 2, Hebron Christian 0

DACULA – Erin Houlihan had gave the Lady Paladins all the scoring they needed to defeat the defending Class A champions Friday on the road.

Houlihan scored first for Pinecrest (1-2) on a penalty kick then later with an assist from Regina Metz.

South Forsyth 5, Collins Hill 0

SUWANEE – Meagan Postell had two goals as the Lady War Eagles cruised to a non-region victory Friday on the road in a showdown of top-10 ranked teams.

No. 9 South (3-0) also got goals from Jenna Vollrath, Payton Schurr and Amanda Mikus, while Nikki Bario had four assists.

Courtney O’Malley and McKenna Galioto shared the shutout against the No. 8-ranked Lady Eagles.

West Forsyth 4, Peachtree Ridge 2

Kylie Gazza had a hat-trick as the Lady Wolverines took down the No. 5-ranked team in Class AAAAAA for a non-region win Friday at home.

Melissa Escudero added a goal for West (1-1), while Kristy Jebavy had an assist.


North Forsyth 2, Mountain View 1

LAWRENCEVILLE - Zach Gilbert and Carlos Pedraza scored one goal apiece and the Raiders earned a non-region victory Friday on the road.

Hebron Christian 3, Pinecrest Academy 1

DACULA – Connor Sassine scored a goal but it wasn’t enough as the Paladins dropped a non-region game Friday on the road.

Sassine scored his goal on a putback of a missed shot by Ben Rivard to tie the game 1-1 in the first half, but Pinecrest (0-3) couldn’t convert on numerous chances in the second half.

South Forsyth 1, Collins Hill 0

SUWANEE – Noah Byrne gave the War Eagles all the scoring they needed to pull out a non-region victory Friday on the road.

Walker Haymond got the shutout for South (2-1).

West Forsyth 2, Peachtree Ridge 1 (OT)

Jamie Mata scored in the first overtime to give the Wolverines a non-region victory Friday at home.

Carlos Reyes added a goal for West (1-2).
