Sequoyah 5, Forsyth Central 4, 10 inns.

The Bulldogs lost a tough Region 7-AAAAA game Tuesday at home.

Central fell to 5-7 overall and 3-3 in the region.

Parker Morrison took the loss despite allowing just one run in five innings of relief.

Taylor Bauman and Michael Branigan each had two hits.

Pinecrest Academy 11, Tallulah Falls 0, 5 inns.

Ryan McCarthy’s big day the plate helped the Paladins cruise to a Region 8-A victory Tuesday at home.

Pinecrest improved to 7-5 overall and 3-4 in the region.

McCarthy led the Paladins with four hits and four RBIs. Anthony Carco had three hits and Andres Perez added two hits.

Conner Ettmueller got the win allowing just two hits while striking out six in a complete game performance.


Lambert 108, Cambridge 118

The Lady Longhorns got an impressive non-region win Tuesday at Laurel Springs.

Sophomore Lauren Lightfritz led Lambert with a 34.

Sophomore Kayley Marschke shot a 36 while junior Michaela Owen shot a 38.


West defeats Northview, Riverwood

The Wolverines won a non-region tri-match Tuesday at St. Ives Country Club.

West shot 164, ahead of Riverwood (172) and Northview (184).

Robert Shaw led the Wolverines with a 1-over 37. Drew Ridings shot 41, Dru Adams and Mason Jones shot a 42 and Zach Davis shot a 43.


Forsyth Central 5, M.L. King 3

The Bulldogs won their second straight game in a non-area game Tuesday at home.

Central improved to 2-9 overall. The Bulldogs are 0-5 in Area 3-AAAAA-A.

Wesley Bacastow and Matthew Johnson each had two goals for the Bulldogs, while Logan Young added a goal.

Damian Clapp, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Austin Flynn, Joe Rank and Ryan Wilkins led a strong defensive effort by the Bulldogs.

Lambert 13, Milton 11

The Longhorns overcame an early deficit for a non-area victory Tuesday on the road and dealt Milton its first loss of the season.

Lambert improved to 6-2 overall. The Longhorns are 2-0 in Area 3-AAAAAA.

Spencer Wilson led Lambert with three goals. Jake Stanford and Eric Overbay each added two goals.

Trey Arnold also won 70 percent on faceoffs.

North Forsyth 18, Cherokee 12

The Raiders broke a seven game losing streak Tuesday with a non-area win at home.

North improved to 2-8 overall. The Raiders are 0-4 in Area 3-AAAAAA.

Patrick Scales led North with four goals and three assists.

JT Powers and Chase Chapman each had three goals and an assist, Jack Connaughton, Ben Cochran and Garrett Patterson each scored two goals and Nick Alo and Justin Gibson each added a goal.

Brady Grindle led North with six groundballs, while goalkeeper Tucker Bradey had a team-high seven saves.


Lambert 2, Milton 0

A little luck and a strong defensive effort helped the Lady Longhorns get a solid non-region win Tuesday at home.

Lambert improved to 6-4-0 overall. The Lady Longhorns are 1-2-0 in Region 6-AAAAAA.

After a scoreless first half, Lambert went ahead when Maddie Eddleman’s corner kick deflected off a Milton defender and into the goal to put the Lady Longhorns up 1-0.

Casey Baker added another goal for Lambert with 6:00 left.

Goalkeeper Jordyn Ebert got the shutout with help from Baker, Riley Geran, Shannon Lilly and Kat Matthews on defense.

Duluth 1, South Forsyth 0

The Lady War Eagles lost a non-region game Tuesday at home.

South fell to 7-3-0 overall. The Lady War Eagles are 2-1-0 in Region 6-AAAAAA.

The game was a rematch from last season’s Class AAAAAA first round when South defeated Duluth 2-1 in overtime on its way to the Final Four.

Duluth got some measure of revenge and remained a perfect 9-0-1 on the season.

Lambert 2, Milton 1 (PK)

Goalkeeper Jake Nelson came through in penalty kicks to give the Longhorns a non-region win Tuesday at home.

After the teams dueled to a 1-1 tie after overtime, Nelson saved Milton’s first two penalty kicks. The Eagles missed on the third kick to seal the win for Lambert.

The Longhorns improved to 8-2-0 overall. Lambert is 2-1-0 in Region 6-AAAAAA.

Cooper Coughlin scored the Longhorns only goal, his seventh of the season. Matt Elliott had the assist.

Woodstock 2, North Forsyth 0

The Lady Raiders lost a non-region game Tuesday on the road.

North fell to 4-5-1 overall. The Lady Raiders are 0-3-0 in Region 6-AAAAAA.

Goalkeeper Sarah Dintino had three saves for North.


Brookwood 3, West Forsyth 2

The Wolverines came up just short of upsetting the top team in the state Tuesday in a non-region game at home.

West fell to 4-5-1 overall. The Wolverines are 3-0-0 in Region 6-AAAAAA.

John Newman and Marcus Bray scored West’s goals, but they weren’t enough against the Broncos, who are 11-0-0 and ranked No. 1 in all classifications by

Newman and Drew Whitehead each had an assist.

North Springs 1, Forsyth Central 0

The Bulldogs remained winless this season with a Region 7-AAAAA loss Tuesday on the road.

Central fell to 0-7 overall and 0-5 in the region.

It was the second straight one-goal loss for the Bulldogs, who lost 2-1 at Sprayberry on Friday, and third this season.

Duluth 2, South Forsyth 0

The War Eagles dropped a non-region game Tuesday at home.

South fell to 5-6-0 overall. The War Eagles are 2-1-0 in Region 6-AAAAAA.

Duluth entered the game ranked No. 3 in Class AAAAAA by The Wildcats improved to 10-0-0 overall this season.


West Forsyth 5, North Forsyth 0

The Lady Wolverines cruised to a Region 6-AAAAAA victory Tuesday at Central Park.

West improved to 6-4 overall and 2-4 in the region.

Emma Niemi, Caroline Connelly and Tara Harper swept Nos. 1, 2 and 3 singles with 6-0, 6-0 victories, respectively.

Haley Anderson and Madie Homan won 6-2, 6-3 at No. 1 doubles, while Lindsey Johnston and Maddie Estes won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2 doubles.

Providence Christian 4, Pinecrest Academy 1

The Lady Paladins dropped a Region 8-A match Tuesday on the road.

Freshman Claudia Szlek won at No. 2 singles for Pinecrest.
