PREP ROUNDUP: Lambert soccer teams stay unbeaten, Pinecrest boys earn first region win

St. Francis 5, Pinecrest 3

On Friday night against the Knights, the Paladins tied the game at 3-3 in the sixth when Patrick O’Rourke scored on a wild pitch. That eventually sent the game to the eighth inning, but St. Francis scored two in the frame to hand Pinecrest the loss, dropping them to 6-6 overall and 6-1 in their region.


Chestatee 2, Denmark 1

The Danes took a 1-0 lead in the first half with a goal from Jonathan Kobby, but weren’t able to hold onto it in the second half against the War Eagles on Friday night. Denmark fell to 1-6-1 overall and 0-3 in Region 7-4A.

Pinecrest 2, Wesleyan 1

Conner Sassine and Jake Lair each scored goals for the Paladins in their Thursday win over Wesleyan. The victory was Pinecrest’s first region win of the year, as they improved their region record to 1-2 and their overall record to 6-4.

Lambert 3, North Forsyth 0

Hayden Fontana scored two goals for the Longhorns in the first half against the Raiders on Friday night, and Thomas Powers added another with 25:44 left in regulation to help secure the win. Lambert jumps to 8-0-1 overall and 5-0 in Region 5-7A. North falls to 0-7-1, 0-5.

Milton 1, West Forsyth 0

The Wolverines and Eagles were locked in a scoreless game throughout regulation, but in overtime, Milton netted the deciding goal to hand West its seventh loss of the season. They drop to 0-7-1 and 0-5 in Region 5-7A.


Wesleyan 2, Pinecrest 1

Pinecrest’s girls fell to the Wolves on Thursday night, taking just their second loss of the season. They now stand at 7-2 overall.

Lambert 5, North Forsyth 0

The Longhorns continued their tear through their Region 5-7A schedule on Friday, improving to 10-0 overall and 6-0 in the region. North dropped to 1-5-1 and 0-3 in region play.

Milton 2, West Forsyth 0

The Wolverines took the Eagles to overtime, but allowed two goals in the extra period to take the loss. They fall to 3-4-1 overall and 2-2 in Region 5-7A.


Denmark 17, Riverside Military Academy 5

The Danes snagged their second win of the season on Thursday night, improving to 2-3 overall.


Forsyth Central 19, Lanier 3

The Bulldogs crushed the Longhorns at home on Friday night, improving their overall record to 4-3.

Chattahoochee 14, South Forsyth 3

The War Eagles lost handily to the Cougars on the road on Friday night, dropping to 1-4 overall.
